Viktor, was a Polish Lowland Sheepdog who shared his views on life and had a following of loyal readers from around the world . He sadly left all of us us way too soon. He left his PON brother, Frodo and his Berger Picard “brother”, Elroy to continue his “legacy.” We now welcome a new PON brother to our story- Wojtek- who in many ways, has the very same “bigger than life attitude” as Viktor. So we know Viktor’s spirit lives on, as does the spirit of Paxton, his Bernese Mountain Dog…

I’m sweeping today. The shattered pieces of my heart. I’ve lost my constant protector, teacher and friend of 14 years. He was the Boss of the household and in typical Boss manner, chose to leave on his own terms. So many memories. And now so many tears. I’ll sweep up the pieces- and put them together. But I know that there will be some missing - leaving a hole. Many tears equal many memories- and I wouldn’t trade those for a thing…Love you Do. 14 years. And 14 million memories. Frodo you’ve lived with 5 other dogs - and have been an incredible mentor for puppies. You’ve taught me about conformation, obedience , rally , tricks and that sheep poop can be a delectable appetizer. For dogs anyway. You still shout out commands - and protect our road against anyone who may dare to walk on it! You still act as if you’re being tortured when you are being groomed- but basically voice your displeasure so you can get more treats. You may not see the cat hiding in the woods - but you certainly smell him! You walk like your feet are made of cement in wet weather - and happily trot along in dry conditions- doing several 4 km hikes a week ago. You stole a bully stick from a box in the garage the other day, inconspicuously holding your head down so I wouldn’t see you taking it. Your vision and hearing may not be perfect - but you can find food without any problems. You snore like a truck engine and constantly bark out commands about mealtime, food preparation, and bedtime. You categorically rule this household.
